Power Women: Dwayna Williams of TGND Consulting On How To Successfully Navigate Work, Love and Life As A Powerful Woman

How does a successful, strong, and powerful woman navigate work, employee relationships, love, and life in a world that still feels uncomfortable with strong women? In this interview series, called “Power Women” we are talking to accomplished women leaders who share their stories and experiences navigating work, love and life as a powerful woman.

As a part of this series, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Dwayna Williams and Donna Morris.

Dwayna Williams is the Co-founder of TGND Consulting. She describes herself as a “millennial mompreneur” and finds joy in empowering other millennial moms to pursue their dreams through entrepreneurship. Dwayna has extensive experience amplifying the public presence of change-makers, purpose-driven entrepreneurs, and subject matter experts and is constantly seeking new and innovative ways to promote buzz-worthy ideas.

Donna Morris is the Co-founder of TGND Consulting. She describes herself as a “mommi hustler” and finds joy in being a “creative” and building relationships, but she’s very passionate about helping women bring out their inner beauty through fashion, and style, and creating a cohesive brand image for women who are the face of their brands/businesses. Donna’s motto is “Your brand is your image, so you have to make sure you show up in the world how you want to be perceived.”

Thank you so much for doing this with us! Before we dig in, our readers would like to get to know you a bit more. Can you tell us a bit about your childhood “backstory”?

Donna and I have always been creative. As children, we grew up in East Orange, New Jersey, and were active both in school and after school. I can vividly remember us as cheerleaders, singers, and dancers. We even produced and starred in a video production that aired on our local school T.V. station. We absolutely loved and still love the arts.

Outside of being creative kids, we also enjoyed advocating for our peers and helping to create awareness around their stories. We did this through various events with the Boys and Girls Club, among other organizations. We were skilled at identifying our peers’ needs and assisting them in either getting the help required or sharing their stories through the right channels. As present-day publicists, digital brand architects, and brand image architects, we do the same thing, just on a larger scale. It’s humbling to look back and see that there was always a connection between what came naturally to us back then, and what we’re doing now.
